I’m Nina, a UX / UI Designer based in Maryland with a background in research and healthcare. As a research assistant at a university, I learned mixed-method research to uncover user insights. As a clinical project manager, I developed empathy and extensive knowledge of end-user perspectives.
I found out about UX through my own experience. As someone with Type 1 Diabetes, I often use poorly designed medical apps. To improve my situation, I used my research skills. I connected with other people in the Type 1 community to learn about their problems with these apps. After collecting their feedback and discussing it with medical experts, I shared my findings with customer service teams to help them make improvements. This journey helped me understand UX on a professional level.
Outside of work, I've taken up interior design as a hobby (good luck to my husband! lol), and my usual habit is reading books when I have some free time from my toddler.
Fancy to see you here!
